Landscapes

I find the movement of the prairie landscape uniquely abstracted by the interplay of warp and weft. The horizontal lines of rag weft call to mind vast swaths of color and line viewed from a distance. Filled with shifting textures and shadow, these undulating fields of grass and sky in the open plain are echoed by the shifting vertical color and pattern of the warp.

As my technique has evolved, I find myself drawing inspiration and deeper meaning in the shared connection all humanity has to the beauty and gravity of these circular celestial bodies.
